Welcome to the RCA

The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art is a charity whose aim is to create enjoyment of visual art through a lively exhibition and education programme. The RCA is the longest surviving artist-led organisation in Wales with up to 150 Academicians.

Our programme includes an enjoyable mixture of fine art in the classic traditions by artists living and working in Wales. We rely upon sales, donations, members’ subscriptions and grants, plus the generous support of the Friends of the RCA. The Arts Council of Wales and Conwy County Borough and Town Council all support our work in education. We also offer the Arts Council of Wales’ Collectorplan Scheme which provides an interest-free loan to buy art over 10 months.

The Royal Cambrian Academy is a vibrant art gallery which shows up to nine varied exhibitions per year. It has a lively and popular education programme for all ages. The exhibition programme is an exciting mix of the best of contemporary Fine Art in Wales, historical shows and open exhibitions.

We organise a variety of exciting educational activities for all ages from 3 upwards including; Adult Master Classes, Life Drawing sessions, Lectures, Saturday Art Club, Educational visits, Family drop-in sessions and Holiday Art Club. NEW Exhibition
June 1st - July 6th, 2013

Two major North Wales artists, John Baum and Harry Robertson, both seeped in the landscape and people of the region where they live, will be exhibiting at the Royal Cambrian Academy in Conwy from June 1 to July 6.

Friends of The Royal Cambrian Academy
